About Us
We are a growing community. In 2025 alone, we welcomed over 6,500 attendees for Jumu’ah prayers and saw a 90% rise in enquiries for classes and support. With the help of over 20 dedicated volunteers and visiting scholars, we hosted more than 30 community events, ranging from interfaith dialogues to Eid Fairs.
About The Light Project
Perth Central Mosque (The Light Project) is a registered charity (SC054334) dedicated to serving the Muslims of Perth and Kinross.
2025 marked a historic and transformative year for us. With the successful purchase of our mosque building in January 2025, we have secured a permanent home for the Muslim community of Perth.
Our vision is to be a centre of spiritual guidance, education, community service, and unity for Muslims in Perth and surrounding areas. We aim to build a prophetic community rooted in faith, service, and excellence.
We are more than just a prayer space. Our motto is “Inspire. Serve. Connect.”. We are a registered charity (SC054334) dedicated to being a centre of spiritual guidance, education, community service, and unity for Muslims in Perth and the surrounding areas.

Founder – The Light Project & Ismaeel Books Publishing House
Born and raised in Makkah, I began my Qur’anic journey during high school and completed my memorisation at the age of 16. I later spent seven formative years in the UK and South Africa, deepening my understanding of faith, knowledge, and service.
For the past seven years, I have had the honour of serving as an Imam and contributing to our community through Ismaeel Books Publishing House, which is dedicated to sharing meaningful literature and accessible Islamic knowledge. I also founded The Light Project, a not-for-profit initiative focused on creating welcoming, purposeful spaces for young adults and youth through spiritual and social events that nurture connection and growth.
Now, by the grace of Allah, this journey continues with a new chapter: The Light Project has grown into Perth Central Mosque.
More than just a prayer space, we are building a community heart—a place filled with light and intention, where everyone is welcomed, every story matters, and together we grow in faith, compassion, and unity.
Our Core Services
We serve the community through four key pillars:
- Religious Services: Jumu’ah, daily Salah, Nikah services, and spiritual retreats.
- Educational Services: Children’s Madrasah/Quran classes, adult classes, and sisters' halaqahs .
- Youth Services: Sports sessions, mentoring, character development, and structured youth activities .
- Outreach: Open mosque days, interfaith dialogue, and food/welfare support.
